5 1/2 years older than Scott, 8 1/2 years older than Todd. My kids have always enjoyed hanging out together but the past couple of years she has, naturally, wanted to spend more and more of her free time with her friends. My sons have expressed missing her. This past Saturday we spent the entire day together and it was grand. She was a little grouchy at first and complained of wanting to be with her friends, but she soon got over it and spent time playing with her brothers. I asked them, what did you like best about today? and Scott and Todd said: Everything but especially seeing Iyende all day.

This gives me hope. I often wonder how my kids (girl, 9, and boys 3, 1, 2 months) will get along as they age. How wonderful that they love their big sister so, she will always have them to protect her.

My children are six years apart; the boys older than the girl. At times I worry that the way he treats her (indifferent, sometimes mean) will last through to adulthood.
For many reasons my older brother and I are not close and I don't want to see that happen to them.
Kudos to you for helping your children cultivate good relationships and teaching them the value of acknowledging their love for one another.
being a big sis & a little sis, i can totally see both sides. your daughter's need/want to hang w/ her friends and her little brothers' need/want to hang with her. just keep having a "family" day every now & then and everyone will stay connected.
